Link your Instagram account to a Facebook Page
Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page before HabariChat can manage its DMs. This is how Meta grants the messaging permissions. Linking is free and does not start posting your content to Facebook.
Why a Facebook Page is needed
Instagram messaging is managed through Meta's business tools, and those tools sit behind a Facebook Page. When HabariChat asks for permission to handle your DMs, Meta grants it through the Page that your Instagram account is linked to. No linked Page means there is nowhere for the permission to live, so the connection cannot complete.
Link Instagram to a Page
- An Instagram Business or Creator account.
- A Facebook Page you administer (creating one is free if you don't have it).
- Admin access to that Page.
Option A — from the Instagram app
- Open Instagram and go to your profile, then tap Edit profile.
- Under Public business information, tap Page.
- Select an existing Facebook Page, or create a new one, then confirm.
Option B — from Meta Business Suite
- Open Meta Business Suite and select your Facebook Page.
- Go to Settings → Linked accounts → Instagram.
- Click Connect account, log in to Instagram, and confirm.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| No "Page" option in Edit profile | Confirm the account is a Business or Creator account first. |
| You don't have a Facebook Page | Create one for free in Facebook or Meta Business Suite, then link it. |
| Page is owned by someone else | Ask the Page admin to link it, or to add you as an admin. |
| Linked, but Instagram still won't connect in HabariChat | Wait a few minutes for Meta to sync, then move on to Facebook login. |
Common questions

Yes, you need a Facebook Page to connect Instagram to HabariChat. Creating a Page is free. You can create one in a few minutes from Facebook or Meta Business Suite, then link your Instagram account to it.
No. Linking the accounts only enables the shared business tools, including messaging. Cross-posting to Facebook is a separate setting that stays off unless you turn it on.
